My garage door won t open.

If i hold the remote in my hand and continuously push up on the wood garage door then it ll keep humming work until it s all the way up.

From here lift the garage door by hand about 3 feet above the ground and then release the door and see were it lands.

This had the effect that the metal hook is now almost at the motor and when i manually open the garage the plastic catch does not reach the metal hook to fit it in place.
